A Short Introduction of Enameled Wire

Enameled wire is one of the main varieties of winding wire, which consists of two parts, conductor and insulation. The bare wire is softened by annealing, and then coated with paint and baked several times. But to produce not only meet the standard requirements but also to meet customer requirements of the product is not easy. It is affected by the quality of raw materials, process parameters, production equipment, environment and other factors. Therefore, a variety of enameled wire quality characteristics are different, but have four major properties——mechanical properties, chemical properties, electrical properties, thermal properties.

The types of enameled wire

1. According to the insulating material:
● acetal enameled wire
● polyester enameled wire
● polyurethane enameled wire
● modified polyester enameled wire
● polyesterimide enameled wire, polyesterimide/polyamideimide enameled wire
● polyimide enameled wire

2. According to the use of enameled wire
● General-purpose enameled wire (ordinary line): It mainly used for general motors, electrical appliances, instrumentation, transformers and other workplace winding line, such as polyester enameled wire, modified polyester enameled wire.
● Heat-resistant enameled wire: It mainly used for 180 ℃ and above temperature environment of the motor, electrical appliances, instrumentation, transformers and other work occasions winding line, such as polyester imide enameled wire, polyimide enameled wire, polyester enameled wire, polyester imide / polyamide imide composite enameled wire.
● Special-purpose enameled wire: refers to a certain quality characteristics required for specific occasions of the winding line, such as: polyurethane enameled wire (direct welding), self-adhesive enameled wire.

3.  According to the conductor material

4. According to the shape of the material
● round wire

The function of the enameled wire

1. Electrical Insulation: The enamel coating on the wire prevents direct contact between the wire turns, thus providing electrical insulation. This is crucial in applications where coils or windings are used, such as in transformers, motors, and inductors.
2. Heat Resistance: Enameled wire is designed to withstand the heat generated during the operation of electrical devices. The enamel insulation has good thermal properties, allowing the wire to function effectively at elevated temperatures.

The applied areas of enameled wire
